Have you ever notice that your life turned out exactly like you thought it would.  Not how you hoped it would, but how you thought it would.  That’s because of a phenomenon in the “Being” of being human called the “Drift”.

That Drift usually takes the form of what ever cultural conversation you were born into.  The implications of this are really very fascinating, and a very long conversation.

This next part should really bake your noodle.  

It isn’t even your life anyway, it’s “Its” life and the “You” that you really are is not required for the living of “Its” life.  If you are resisting the domination of the possibility that this brings up, stay with me for a minute.

Consider the possibility that the “You” that you really “are”, shares existence in the realm of the relative with an entity we shall call “It”.  Also consider the possibility that, “It” actually lives the life that “You” think you have.

Saying the same thing in another way: Consider that the “I” in the phase “I” think, “I” want, “I” like, “I” breathe, and “I” feel is not really “You” and is really a deep superstition you have (and this superstition is capable of living life completely without you).  Also consider that this superstition is so deep that you don’t think “It” is not you, you are, that it is you.

“It” wakes you up in the morning.  ”It” brushes your teeth. “It” has kids that it fixes breakfast for. “It” (maybe) has a significant other that it snuggles up to at night. “It” drives to work. “It” has friends. “It” has Your life!

Lets get this notion about the “I” that you are for yourself handled once and for all.  If  ”You” are the “I” that is referenced in the phrase I think, I breath, I feel then “You” stop thinking, “You” stop breathing, “You” stop feeling.  When you find that you can’t, you might want to re-consider the possibility that “It” is not “You” anyway.

If you can “Be” with the “bucket of cold water” that, this fact is (in a way that doesn’t dis-empower you) a space of possibility for a future that didn’t exist (for the “You” that you really are) before then, will begin to open up, inside of which, “You” can play with the question “What do YOU want?”.

Here’s the dose of reality I promised in the beginning: “It” really does have everything else in life handled, freeing the “You” that you really are, to do what ever “You” really want to do in life.

With the exception of a neologism (which comes into “Being” one word at a time) everything that you read or hear, is always “the same thing” said another way, more important than that, there hasn’t been any new conversation in the world for thousands of years.

We are on the presibus of an evolutionary epoch in global awareness about life and it’s true nature.  It is a glorious time to be alive.

The point to all this is: The same thing “said another way” can allow someone to see something newly or from a different angle which may be the difference between being able to apply that understanding to their life in a way that makes a real impact.  Who will you be, when humanity grows up?

All attackers see themselves as defending something. Some say they’re defending their standard of living. Some say they’re defending their right to live in a safe country. Some say they’re defending their way of life. Some say they’re defending their morality and beliefs.

The problem with this line of thinking is, it breeds insane behaviors that are then justified in the mind of the attacker.

The Key to Understanding the Law of Attraction

Of all the universal laws, the law of attraction is both the most fascinating and the most misunderstood. Fascinating, because as humans we naturally want a tool to help create the life of our dreams, and the law of attraction can certainly help us to do that. Misunderstood because, unlike a tool that we can pull out and use now and again but is otherwise inactive, the law of attraction is operating in our lives constantly and independently, whether we are consciously aware of it, or believe in it, or not.

In other words, there is no need to engage the law of attraction, it is already at work in your life and always will be. So long as you are alive and breathing, the law of attraction is at work. This is great news! You are already using the law of attraction to create everything in your life whether you realise it or not. The results that you are experiencing: your career, finances, relationships, health, home, community, and so on, are a direct result of the law of attraction and your interaction with it in the form of thoughts and feelings.

If you’re not creating the kind of life you want though, chances are you are creating by default, allowing the law of attraction to bring you more and more of the same. Unfortunately, we weren’t handed a life manual at birth and, for many of us, our parents were not aware of the law of attraction and so did not teach us.  At Attract Like Magic we are dedicated to helping you understand this powerful universal law and how you can begin to use the law of attraction to consciously create the life of your dreams. But in order to really understand the law of attraction, you first need to understand another of the universal laws, the law of vibration.

Law of Vibration

According to the law of vibration everything is made of energy and has a distinct frequency or vibration. With the advent of powerful enough technology, science now agrees. Quantum physicists have shown that, although matter may appear to be solid, when you look at it through a high-powered microscope so that it is broken down into its smallest components: molecules, atoms, neutrons, electrons and quanta (the smallest particles measurable), it is ultimately mostly empty space interspersed with energy.

In other words, at the quantum level, everything is comprised of energy and empty space and what makes you, your home, your car, the chair you’re sitting in, seem solid is the frequency of the vibration of the energy that makes it up.

Not only does your body and all that you consider to be “you” have a distinct and unique vibration (or more correctly a mix of vibrations), but your creations, in the form of thoughts, also have distinct vibrations which affect or blend with your overall vibration.

In turn, your vibrations affect everything around you – your environment, the people and animals around you, the inanimate objects, even the seemingly ‘empty’ space and they, in turn, affect you. That’s why, when you walk into a room where there was an earlier argument, you can sense it. We even use terms like “bad vibes”, “you can feel the tension”, and “you could cut the air in here with a knife” to describe it. In each case what we are referring to is the energy imprint of the earlier occupants.

Similarly, you may have gone to someone’s home, office or business where, as soon as you entered, you felt the “good vibes” that filled the place. That’s because, over time, a place becomes imbued with the energy imprints of the dominant vibrations of the people who live or work there. So a home, for example, can literally become filled with love or tension or anger or sadness or any other emotion, and that home will feel that way to a visitor even if none of the regular occupants are at home at the time. If you’ve ever entered such a place you may even have noticed how you just relaxed and felt good in response to the “good vibes” around you. Of course, the extent to which you take on the vibrations of the people and things around you is up to you – but for most people, this is not a conscious decision.

So, you are giving off vibrations every second of every day. You are also simultaneously receiving and translating the vibrations of everything and everyone around you. If we use the analogy of television, you are both a television transmitter, beaming out your own unique station, and also a television set or receiver, able to tune in to all the stations or frequencies being broadcast around you. Sometimes we refer to these incoming vibrations as intuition or “gut feelings”.

So how do you know what your vibration is at any moment?

Simple – ask yourself how you are feeling.

Your emotions are a quick and handy guide to your vibration in any moment. If you feel loving, you are vibrating at the frequency of love; if you feel angry, you are vibrating at the frequency of anger; if you feel curious, you are vibrating at the frequency of curiosity, and those vibrations are received by everything and everyone around you. You are also, through the law of attraction, bringing to you more experiences that will match this vibration so when you feel angry the law of attraction will bring to you more experiences that will elicit the feeling of anger, you will attract angry people and find yourself in the middle of angry situations.

Have you ever had a day where you felt lousy, but tried to pretend that everything was OK to family, friends or co-workers? It doesn’t work does it? Your friends, family or co-workers know straight away that you are not how you are pretending to be. They may ask if something is wrong, or comment that you don’t seem to be your normal self. They pick up on the incongruence between what you are saying and your vibration. Because we are not used to explaining in terms of vibrations, they may attribute their knowing to something more mundane like tone of voice or body language, but even people without the full use of their senses can detect this type of incongruence.

To sum up, you are sending out vibrations every moment of every day. Those vibrations are a mix of your thoughts and feelings and they affect everything around you. At the same time you are also receiving and translating the vibrations of everything around you (which can, in turn, affect your vibration by how you react to them). Now that we understand vibration, let’s look at how it interacts with the law of attraction.

Law of Attraction

The law of attraction, simply put, means energy attracts like energy. You may also have heard it expressed as “like attracts like’, “that which is like unto itself is drawn” and even “thoughts become things”.

The law of attraction is at work in your life every minute of every day. Your vibrations are constantly being broadcast to, and received, by the universe. This activates the law of attraction which then matches your vibrations and attracts to you similar vibrations in the form of people, things and situations in your life. In other words you are always creating your life through your thoughts and feelings. The conditions in your life, whether they are what you want or not, are always a match to your dominant vibrations.

The law of attraction, like all the universal laws, operates whether you are aware of it or not, or believe it or not. The often-used terms “what you focus on grows”, “careful what you wish for (cause you just might get it)”, “birds of a feather flock together” and “you can’t get enough of what you don’t want” are all examples of ways that we describe the law of attraction in action.

So, the question becomes – if your life is not how you would wish it to be, how do you change it? And the answer most often given by law of attraction and personal development teachers is a simple one – change your thoughts.

Simple – yes, but not easy. Here’s why.

Somewhere between 94 – 98% of all thoughts are subconscious, that is, below or out of conscious awareness which means that only 2 – 6% of your thoughts are ever conscious. So, even if you managed to change all of your conscious thoughts to be positive, that still leaves an awful lot of subconscious thought, at least some of which would be negative, vibrating away in the background without you even being aware of it! If you’re having trouble creating what you want in life, chances are your subconscious mind is at fault.

What does it mean to be self aware?  Exactly “what” is aware of “what“? Where do our experiences in life come from? How can I use this to gain mastery over my thoughts and feelings? All of these are great questions. Understanding the following post will help you gain mastery over your thoughts and feelings.

The content that makes up your experiences in life comes from two places (or centers) in the body.  It would also be accurate to say, these two centers in the body are your two centers of “Being“. ~o)

The mind is the logic center of the body and the solar plexus is the feeling center of the body. The solar plexus is a unique bundle of nerves located deep in the chest behind the lungs.  The solar plexus is also where the subconscious lives. The solar plexus was named this because (like the sun) it radiates (drawing from source energy) the life energy necessary for the force field of the S.O.U.L. to exist in the realm of the relative. The energy (from Source Energy) used to create your force field is distributed along certain meridians of the body called “Chakras”.  Both “centers of Being“ are capable of independent non verbal communication with the body.

It would also be accurate to say the mind is the clearing for our thoughts (to show up) and the solar plexus (subconscious mind) is the clearing for our feelings (to show up). These two centers of being are in a constant competition for the expression that is your life. Your two centers of being are connected by a single channel called the Vegas nerve. It is this channel that allows your two centers of being to become aware of each other and form the duality you know as “you” (the little voice in your head that never shuts up). The Jamaicans call that duality “The I in I”.

Most if not all of the incorrect logic (harmful thoughts) and the breeding of insane human behaviors can be attributed to the collapse (or blending) of these two experiences into one experience called the “vicious circle of life” where your thoughts and feelings about something are so mixed up it becomes difficult to make a decision on some issues we sometimes have to deal with in life. The collapse of your thoughts and feelings into a single experience is the basis for the conundrum we experience when the heart and the head are of opposing view points on an issue. The collapse also makes it difficult to think or feel your way through a problem in life.

If we hold one experience distinct from another (i.e. separate what one feels about something vs what one thinks about something) it then becomes easier to find a solution to one or more of our life’s issues or concerns.

It is the blending (at the speed of thought) of these two centers of being that we achieve the state of BEING we call self aware, where the self (the mind) becomes aware of and enters into a life long conversation with the self (the subconscious mind). When the self becomes aware of the self, the conversation they enter into is centered around two topics “survival of the being” and “what things mean”. Survival and meaning is the game we all play in life.

There are only two types of experiences in life. If one takes time to notice, there is only what one thinks about something or what one feels about something.

All of this is great Leonard, and what can I do with this knowledge?

First, you can realize you are not your thoughts. Second, you can realize you are not your feelings. Third, you can realize you are not even a combination of your thoughts or feelings.

What you are, is a “clearing” for your thoughts and feeling to have expression in the world. What’s important about knowing that is this, thoughts and feelings are something you have, not something you are. It sounds simple, however most of us relate to our thoughts and feelings as tho they have us, not the other way around. Coming from that point of view will leave you “at the effect of” instead of “the cause of” your experiences in life. Not a very powerful place to stand, especially if what you want to experience is your natural state of happiness.

Mastery over our thoughts and feelings begins with the knowledge that we are an empty vessel for Life to express itself. Having dominion over both our thoughts and our feelings, lives in the practice of holding one type of experience distinct from the other. Further mastery comes with the knowledge that thoughts and feelings actually show up in the empty space we are and do not necessarily require any action on our part. Especially if that action goes against the grain of our internal compass.

Mastery over our thoughts and feelings will be attained when one can simply notice whats there (what one thinks vs what one feels), without the need to act on what one notices. It is the patterned inclination to “do” something with what we notice that is the cause of most of the upset we experience in life.

The Game

What if you knew all there was to know and you only knew it as pure thought energy? What if your very existence was nothing more than thought energy? You couldn’t feel anything, you could only think (and speculate) about your existence.  How would you come to know yourself completely, as thoughts and feelings?

Well, if you were omnipotent thought energy you could invent an “Eternal Game” where part of you became the physical world (the realm of the relative) as the created and the creator. “The All in All“.

What if you forgot on purpose (as one of the rules of your game) you did that, the  design of which was to remember (through a process of creation and re-creation of yourself) who and what you really are?  How would you remember?

One way to accomplish this, is to invent a game where the only purpose of the game was to remember who you are, through direct experience (to feel, what you already think). To accomplish this task, one would need a mechanism in which to do this, this is the reason for the S.O.U.L. ~o)

Critical to the understanding of this writing, the following distinction must be understood. Life (capital L, synonymous with source energy ) is the all in all, the beginning and the end,  all there is, the alpha and the omega.  “life” (lowercase l) is animated tissue, plants, animals and humans or anything with a DNA based structure.  Source Energy uses a S.O.U.L. to experience itself  as individual projections of itself. Said another way, the soul is the mechanism by which source energy gets to experience and know itself in the physical (the self, becoming aware of the self), or said another way… Source Energy becoming aware of Source Energy, through the process of life.

Mind Body and Spirit.

One could say that life shows up for us (gets experienced by us) in two ways, as a presence (a feeling) or as a concept (a thought). The notion that sometimes bakes my noddle is this: Not only “do” we experience Life, we “are” (serve as) experience itself . We are all messengers and our lives are a “teaching” to everyone around us. We bring a message to Life, as life, about Life. Said another way… we all play a part in the universe becoming aware of itself through direct experience.

What is the soul?

A favorite teacher of mine, (Neale Donald Walsch) has a lecture and writing on the meaning of the SOUL. Neale calls the S.O.U.L. a Singular Outflow of Universal Life. I differ slightly from my teachers acronym. I prefer to call the soul a Single Occurrence of Unique life. I believe it goes further in drawing a line of distinction between Life (capitol L) and life (lower case l) for the purpose of being able to accurately relate to both terms in a way that is less confusing.

I personally feel, to have altered the next passage in any way would take away from its clarity and simplicity. If you connect with any part of what Neale is saying here, I would strongly encourage buying his book. A link will be provided at the end. So, without further adieu here you have it, straight from the teacher word for word.

What is the difference between the soul and the spirit, or is there a difference?

“Your soul is the individuation of the divine spirit ( said another way… it is the individuation of Source Energy in the realm of the relative) which is all there is. The soul is universal life energy focused, localized and vibrating at a particular frequency in one specific time in space. Energy vibrating in such a highly specific way is a singular out flow of universal Life. You may abbreviate that in English as S.O.U.L.

The S.O.U.L. uses the rest of itself (that is, it draws upon the energy of universal Life of which it is a part) as one of three tools with which to fashion a particular experience (in the realm of the relative). The energy of universal Life is sometimes called the Spirit, the other tools are the body and the mind.

Your S.O.U.L. is who you are, your body and your mind are what you use to experience who you are, in the realm of the relative. The home of your soul is in the realm of the absolute, where Divine Spirit dwells. Your S.O.U.L. is now living in the realm of the relative, and is on a journey home. When it returns home, it joins once again with the rest of itself. It reunites with Divine Spirit, fusing with it to become one spirit once again. In some Eastern mystical traditions this fusing into one is called Samati. Then, having re-experiencing the bliss of Samati and the ultimate knowing of oneness, the S.O.U.L. emerges once more from the “All” (as a individual projection of the “All” ) controlling and regulating its vibration and transmuting its energy at a localized point on what can be referred to as the space time continuum. It’s most recent journey though this never ending cycle of Divinity experiencing itself, has produced the being that you call You.” [-O<

The New Revelations: A Conversation with God A must have!

In conclusion, here is my attempt at describing the term, "The Realm of the Relative."

The realm of the relative is synonymous with 3 dimensional time and space. That is to say, we only know something in the realm of the relative by its relation to something else. We only know the term "back", by its relation to the term "front". We only know the term "up", by its relation to the term "down". We only know the term "left", by its relation to the term "right". A thing has height, only in its relation to its width and breadth. Everything we understand, we understand only by its relation to what we do not understand.

In the realm of the relative, everything is relative to something else.

What does it mean to be self aware?

On a smaller scale we as humans achieve the state of Being we call "self-aware", when our conscious mind enters into a life long dialog with our subconscious mind through a direct channel called the Vegas nerve. (This is the voice in your head that only stops "Being" when YOU stop "Being".) Awareness just happens to be the topic of my next writing.

From the instant my identity sparked into “Being” at 4 years old, I can distinctly remember having the crystal clear thought’s in that moment in time, “Who am I?” “What am I?” and “What am I doing, right now?” (In the thoughts and vernacular of a four year old.)  And, if those questions weren’t enough to bake the noddle of a 4 year old, they were immediately followed by “Seriously, who am I?” “Seriously, what am I?” and the most important question to me at that time was “Was I even a who or a what before this moment in time?”

Seeking the answer’s to understanding that moment in time became my carrot and stick in life, little did I know, finding the answers would be the booby prize , it was however the beginning of my journey into “Mastering the Moment”.

The first thing there is to understand about mastering the moment, is…there is only the moment, and nothing else. One could say that life is an omni-present, multi-dimensional, ceaselessly flowing field of all possibility. Said another way, life is a series of moments strung together, only experienced in the occurring as a right now phenomenon, period. The concept of linear time is an illusion, a man made mental construct to mark and keep records of our existence. The past never existed, the future hasn’t happened, there is only, right now… and right now… and right now. If you can wrap your head around that, you’ve got a shot at “Mastering the Moment.

“What do you mean, the past never existed? I know it did because I remember it! You’re crazy!”

Really, consider this. In the “occurring” of the past, it was the present. You and I relate to the past as though it were some place we could travel to with our notions of “time travel” and such, the ruthless rules of reality dictate, that simply isn’t true. The past only really exists in the memory of those who experienced the “occurring” event or have some memory of the “story” of the event (and of course in our writings).

“Leonard, this heady stuff is great, but what is the practical application to mastering the moment?”

That heady stuff was to serve as a background of relatedness for you to understand this. You have the power to choose any state of being you wish and all you ever had to do to experience it (in your occurring moments) was to call it forth (to be experienced by you right now).

When we move into any moment, we rarely do so with our state of being determined “ahead of time”. Instead, we wait to see: One, how the moment shows up for us. Two, how others are re-acting to the moment. Then, at the speed of thought, a judgment or assessment dictates “who” we get to “be” in that moment and more important than that, how that moment gets experienced by us.

What if you took the point of view that you were going to determine “who” you were going to “be” before the moment showed up? What if you took the point of view that you were going to be loving, ahead of time? What if you took the point of view that you were going to be excited, ahead of time? Do you think that point of view would alter the way you experienced that moment? Said another way, do you think that point of view would alter your occurring of that moment?

You bet it would!

I can hear the Cup-O-Joe gallery saying to me as I write this: “Leonard, I could simply meditate to experience mastery of the moment. I could ride a bike, jog a 5k or do an activity that is pleasing to me, to experience being excited or loving.” Yes you could, and all of these things are great. The conundrum in this, is that one can’t do these things all the time, all day long. It would be impractical to attempt to meditate, ride a bike or jog a 5k all day every day to get to experience mastery of the moment.

(Critically important to the understanding of this writing) When one chooses the moment to move into ahead of time, they shift the axis of their experience of that moment from being “at the effect of” to being the “cause of” their experience of that moment, and that very simple act of creation will alter their occurring.

Here’s why: Meditation, jogging a 5k or riding a bike all live in the realm of doing something to get to a state of being. One can not do excited, one can only be excited. One can not do loving, one can only be loving. Remember this always, what you are being is who you really are, not what you think you are, nor what you are currently doing. You are not a “human doing” you are a “human being”.

Learning to master the moment begins with the acceptance of the responsibility of being cause in the matter (of the moment) of one’s own life and that is the beginning of mastery of living. True mastery in life is a continuous contiguous secession of these moments.

It is my opinion that: “True nuggets in life can be experienced by seeking out and playing with those who are looking for the meaning to life. Run, run very fast, away from those who say they have found it.” You may quote me… Seek the teacher who tells you, he has not the answer to your questions in life and points to you and says “but you do.”

The age of the single messiah to come along and change the world has long since passed. For the collective called “Humanity” to evolve and graduate from it’s infancy to adolescence, a global shift in awareness is what’s needed. You have the answers to all you could ever want or need in life contained within you and all you need to do to have access to them, is remember.

Out of all of the quotes and writings I’ve ever read on forgiveness, this one says it best.” FORGIVENESS is not something we do for OTHER PEOPLE we do it for OURSELVES…to GET WELL and MOVE ON.”

The big lie you and I bought into about forgiveness is that we do it for the other person. To date, we have not been able to experience the feelings of another person. If one is holding onto an issue that they have not forgiven another person for, they are the only one that gets to feel the feelings of un-forgiveness. As we grew up, we’ve been sold the bill of goods that to forgive is divine. I say that understanding what you now know, to not forgive is kind of silly because you’re the only one paying for it.

It has been my experience that it is easier to forgive someone else than it is to forgive yourself. A possible reason might be that you can forgive someone else and walk away and forget about it, but you are stuck with yourself forever! The thing that you want to forgive is always there with you, part of you and not as easy to walk away from.

So, how do you forgive yourself? One way is to take the point of view that not forgiving yourself is like holding a hammer in your hand and continually whacking yourself on the head, while simultaneously blaming yourself for whatever you did, and that “blaming of yourself” provides the justification to continue whacking. Once you realize you’re the one holding the hammer, you can simply put it down and heal.

In life things happen and the only way to get well is to forgive (even ourselves) have a cup-o-joe and move on.
